Your questions, answered.
- What makes a business high-risk?
- Usually the sector, chargeback levels, regulation, being new with no processing history, or selling into many countries. It doesn't mean you can't get a good deal – it means the application needs to be prepared properly.
- Why was my application declined?
- Often it's the file, not the business – missing documents, unclear business model, weak policies or the wrong acquirer for your sector. I'll tell you what went wrong and how to fix it.
- What is a rolling reserve?
- A percentage of your takings the acquirer holds back for a set period to cover chargebacks. It can often be reduced, or released sooner, with the right evidence.
- Can a new business with no processing history get approved?
- Yes, with the right acquirer and a strong application. Expect closer monitoring at first, with terms improving as you build history.
- How much does it cost?
- For acquiring set-up, the acquirer pays me a referral fee, so there's no consulting fee for you.
